When Allergens Attack

The very first time you are exposed to an allergen, such as a mold spore, dust mite, parasite, or bacterium, your body creates antibodies for that particular allergen.  Each time thereafter you encounter the allergen, the antibodies will recognize it and react to it, causing inflammation.  Inflammation, which releases various chemicals in your body, is responsible for the coughing, wheezing, swelling, rash, itching, and other allergic reactions you experience.

Most viruses are caught indoors. . . but there's a way to stop them from spreading!

Viruses spread at an uncountable and incomprehensible rate.  If you started out with one bacterium and allowed it to reproduce (one cell usually divides every 20 to 30 min), by the end of 36 hours, you would be dealing with a bacteria mass weighing 10,000 tons!  This could never happen, however, because environmental factors prohibit an overproduction of bacterium.  Nevertheless, the bacteria which remains in the atmosphere can be destructive to the human population.

Have you been infected by the cold virus in the past year?  Most likely you have been.  You have probably also experienced the passing of colds from one family member to the next.  As soon as one child recovers, the other becomes sick.  Infants and mothers are often culprits for spreading viruses back and forth.  No matter what you do, the viruses always seem to linger.
